  • Website updates will continue once 501c3 status is approved

Treasurer, Ray

  • Ray is working on a budget and requests a meeting with officers to hash out the details. Meeting was scheduled. Draft budget should be ready by next meeting

  • All funds are at Oak Star Bank

  • Reimbursement for wench and payment for use of Washburn Towers paid out.

501c3 Update

  • Motion to ADOPT name "Franklin County Society for Celebrating and Honoring Veterans" with the casual moniker of "Franklin County Honors" made by Derrick

Civic Meetings

    • Tuesday, August 1st from 1700 to 1900 at Washburn Towers

      • Meal will be served

      • Kim has volunteered to setup and provide a meal of smoked shredded pork and pasta salad.

      • Invites need sent out by June 30th

      • Buck will provide a tentative list of invitees by Monday the 26th. Please reply by the 28th

      • Officers will hand-deliver VIP invites July 7th 1100 to 1300

      • Buck will have a draft presentation to go over for the next meeting

      • Derrick and Buck will do a system check the day before, assuming Washburn Towers will allow it

  • Chamber Coffee

    • Friday, August 4th 0800 to 0900 at Veterans Memorial

      • alternate location for weather is Pizza Village

      • will need additional speakers for brief speech

      • will need to order coffee and donuts (checking with Daylight Donuts)

New Business

Memorial Day Events

  • Gary provided the suggestion that Franklin County Honors takes on Memorial Day events in addition to Veterans Day events.

    • It was acknowledged and tabled for a later date

  • Elizabeth, in absentia, is purchasing two stands to mount banners for displays

  • Elizabeth, in absentia, suggested getting shirts for members of Franklin County Honors made by a local business, AM Creations.

    • It was acknowledged and tabled for a later date

  • Bill suggested we work with local groups before reaching beyond our community

    • This was agreed upon and will be taken into consideration moving forward
